BlockDeep Labs Takes Over Maintenance of Polkadot JS

Polkadot JS has been an integral part of Parity’s developer offering since its launch in 2018 - now it’s time to hand it over to a team ideally placed to take it on.

Polkadot JS is a cornerstone for developers building in the Polkadot ecosystem, powering everything from wallets and dashboards to custom UIs and dapps. The suite includes critical client-side components such as the Developer Interface (Polkadot JS Apps), API, Developer Signer (Extension), and several other dependencies and libraries.

As the ecosystem matures and more specialized teams step up to drive its growth, Parity Technologies is proud to announce that BlockDeep Labs will be taking over the support and maintenance of the entire Polkadot JS suite. This year, Parity teams and BlockDeep Labs have collaborated closely on the progressive and successful handover of Polkadot JS-related activities, including its rebranding and ongoing maintenance.

About BlockDeep Labs

BlockDeep Labs is a Berlin-based blockchain engineering firm, set up by former Parity staff. It specializes in building secure, scalable, and production-grade decentralized systems based on Polkadot technology and has a strong track record of ecosystem contributions, including deep involvement in Substrate-based development and building the Mythos parachain. Its hands-on experience with developer tooling and commitment to open source make it an ideal steward for the continued evolution of Polkadot JS.

While Parity Technologies will continue to focus on core protocol development and advancing the Polkadot roadmap, we are confident that BlockDeep Labs will bring new energy, responsiveness, and innovation to the Polkadot JS stack.

What to Expect

  • Continued maintenance and support for the Polkadot JS suite, including regular security penetration testing.
  • New features and performance improvements tailored to evolving ecosystem needs.
  • Transparent communication and opportunities for community collaboration.

We're incredibly grateful to everyone who has contributed to Polkadot JS over the years, from code to issues, to documentation and feedback. Your support made the project what it is today. And as we pass the torch, we look forward to seeing BlockDeep Labs expand its potential even further.

Polkadot is built to enable a collaborative, decentralized future, and this is one more step in that direction.
